Our Story

Around the Table’s lead artists are Alexander Golob and Teresa Maynard. Alexander is a public artist whose work focuses on collaboratively creating beautiful and powerful site-specific art that lifts people and their stories up. While Alexander is not from the area, he has worked with local community members and organizations to develop collaboratively-created public art projects. Teresa is a Dorchester resident,  baker, local business-owner, and active community member. Both artists have a passion for sharing food and for exploring the intersection of food, art, story-telling, and community-building. 
Since connecting three years ago, the two artists have been looking for an opportunity to collaborate and bring their vision of food, storytelling, and art to lift up often marginalized experiences. They believe that, with the Creative City Boston grant, they will have the adequate funding and logistical support to realize their idea.
